There are many ways that artists have worked with nature in art. This workshop will be an artistic based practice rooted in nature that is directly connected to self-awareness, nourishing and healing potentialities, and is appropriate for any skill level. Different methods of artistic expression will be used in the garden’s natural environment.  Blending personal self-reflection with reflections on the many meanings of nature, participants and affiliated instructors will experience a variety of artistic processes in the context of the spirit, tactile nature, and diverse spaces within the gardens. Many of the activities can be repeated and utilized after the workshop.
This workshop will be led by Cape Fear Botanical Garden’s (Garden) Artist in Residence Ginny Sykes. Please dress for the outdoors and bring a bagged lunch.
When: June 1st, 9:30am-3pm
Where: Cape Fear Botanical Garden
Cost: $25 per member, $30 per non member
This project is supported by the Arts Council in part by contributions from businesses and individuals, and through grants from the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County and the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.
