As Therapeutic Horticulture practitioners, students, and volunteers, it is so important to practice what we know: connection is essential! Like trees in a forest, we need each other to keep growing.

Carolinas Horticultural Therapy Network was founded several decades ago by a group of practitioners who wanted to connect with colleagues in our region that understood our populations-- plants and people. Out of these early gatherings, CHTN emerged and became a nonprofit organization whose goal is to grow our profession through professional education, sharing best practices, and facilitating a collaborative peer network.

"But I'm not a horticultural therapist!" you might be thinking-- and while some of our members are HTRs (AHTA registered horticultural therapists), so many are therapeutic horticulturist, environmental educators, students, volunteers -- we are all people who are dedicated to fostering the vital people-plant connection. Please know that with that interest, you are welcome!

We are holding one of the best events of our program year next month right in the middle of the state, in Alamance County between Greensboro and Durham. We'll gather to learn about an inspiring TH program at Benevolence Farm in Graham, then enjoy a delicious lunch together overlooking the Haw River in Saxapahaw, and finish by spending the afternoon sharing about our practices and interests, guided by our incredible Professional Development team. Your registration includes the tour, lunch, and the afternoon activities. You'll leave feeling like you are ready to take on anything!
